Bus Pass Information
Why Are Bus Passes Required?
Each bus pass is assigned to a specific student and includes their name, school, and bus route information.
Students must scan their bus pass every time they board and exit the bus. Scanning helps us:
- Verify students are riding the correct bus
- Track ridership accurately
- Quickly locate students in an emergency
- Support student safety
Please remind your child to scan their bus pass each time they ride.
When Will My Child Receive Their Bus Pass?
Students Registered Before the School Year Begins
Your child must be assigned transportation in Bus Planner before they can ride the bus.
During the first week of school:
- Students may ride without a bus pass if their transportation assignment is visible in Bus Planner.
After the first week of school:
- A bus pass is required to ride.
Grades K–3
📬 Bus passes are mailed to the student's home before school begins.
Please ensure your mailing address is up to date in PowerSchool.
If you do not receive your child's bus pass, please contact transportation@blackgold.ca.
Grades 4–12
🎫 Bus passes are distributed at school during the first week of classes.
Students Registering After School Has Started
Students may not ride immediately after registering. Transportation must first be assigned in Bus Planner.
Once assigned:
- A bus pass will be printed and sent to the school for distribution.
- Please allow up to two weeks for delivery.
- Bus stop and route information will be available in Bus Planner.
If you require a bus pass sooner, please contact transportation@blackgold.ca to arrange pickup.
Lost, Damaged, or Missing Bus Passes
Replacement bus passes cost $20.00.
To request a replacement pass:
- Log in to PowerSchool.
- Select Student Fees and Forms.
- Choose Replacement Bus Pass.
- Complete payment.
Replacement passes are printed on Fridays and delivered to schools the following week.
⚠️ If a student is reported for not having a bus pass, Transportation will attempt to contact the parent/guardian. If no response is received, a replacement bus pass may be issued to the student, and the $20 replacement fee may be added to the student's PowerSchool account.
